Expansion Tanks
Wendland’s standard expansion tank allows for the expansion and contraction of the hydronic system and provides for proper pressurization under different operating conditions. We recommend using ASHRAE’s latest guide and data book for determining your tank volume requirements.
The “C” model expansion tank drawing is our standard tank. Please consult the factory for expansion tanks built to your specifications if changes are required.
Our expansion tanks are designed for 150 psi ASME code with stamp and are tested at 225 psi. The “C” model tanks are power wire brushed and prime painted prior to shipment. The “CG” model is our standard hot-dip galvanized expansion tank.

General Notes
- Tanks are designed, constructed and stamped in accordance with Section VIII, Division 1 for the ASME Code of unfired pressure vessels.
- Tank exterior to be prime painted with one coat of standard shop primer.
- Inspection openings are provided on all expansion tanks per ASME Code.
